FAQ About the Cost of Therapy

Do you take insurance?

Yes. I am in network with the following health plans:

  • Aetna

  • Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Virginia

  • Cigna/Evernorth

  • CareFirst/Blue Choice

  • United Healthcare (coming soon)

For all other insurance plans, I am an out of network provider. This means that you pay up front for services. I provide you with a “Superbill” which you submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

I encourage you to call the phone number on the back of your insurance card and ask about your behavioral health benefits.

How much do you charge?

For those insured with the plans I accept, you pay your co-pay and meet your deductible, if you have one. Your insurance company pays the rest.

For those using out-of-network benefits, individual therapy sessions cost $150 and are 50 minutes long. Your insurance company may reimburse you for some portion of this under your out-of-network benefits. I do offer a reduced rate for a limited number of clients on a case-by-case basis. Please inquire if therapy cost presents a financial hardship for you.

Group therapy is $75 a session. Groups are 90 minutes long.

What forms of payment do you take?

Debit and credit cards, via our secure patient portal, are charged after your session. All credit cards are accepted. You can also use a health savings account from your employer.

What if I need to cancel?

My cancellation policy is 24 hours prior to your appointment. If it is less than 24-hours, or you do not show up for your appointment without cancelling, the full fee is charged. In person appointments can be changed to virtual if needed.

Can I get a “Good Faith Estimate”?

Yes, per the No Surprises Act you are entitled to a good faith estimate for services.
